PRIME LAMBS
More numbers about this week with 825 lambs through the ring with a more mixed show than previous weeks with lambs ranging from 30-61kg. Seeing an overall average of 336ppk and sqq of 340ppk. A two-tier trade with meat getting away very nicely with leaner sorts more of a selective trade.
CD & HL Mason, Lancaster hitting the top spot today with Beltex lambs to £212. Also, hitting £212 mark from R & DL Cornthwaite, Nateby this time for Texel lambs from T & E Burrow, Slyne taking the honours in ppk with Beltex lambs to 488ppk. Plenty of other well meated Texel/Beltex lambs round the 430ppk or £200 mark. More Mule/Masham lambs about today with Masham topping at £177 from T & D Wright, Wray with Mules to £154 from W & A Cornall, Garstang and £151 from JW Cornall, Bleasdale. Lonk lambs topping at £135 from S Bosworth, Burnley while Dalesbred to £132 from R Capstick & son, Ingleton.
More lambs required for next Monday sale with buyers able to handle more numbers easily.

Small show of ewes forward today. Texel ewes topping at £220 from R & DL Cornthwaite, Nateby with numerous other texel ewes £170-£200. Cheviot ewes to £200 from AG Butler, Hambleton. Mule ewes to £140 from W & A Cornall, Barnacre. Horned ewes to £132 for Dalesbred from R Capstick & Son, Ingleton. All ewes today averaged £149.
